FEMA Corps Members’ Positive Experience in Baton Rouge

After a full month spent in basic training at the FEMA Academy in Vicksburg, Miss., FEMA Corps are in Louisiana supporting the agency’s mission. Currently, FEMA Corps members are working out of the Joint Field Office in Baton Rouge, La. doing mission critical work such as writing reports, drafting documents, and calculating data for reports.

FEMA Corps member Dina Manco said, “I have been working with the Intergovernmental Affairs section. It has been great to interact with FEMA employees and use my skills in a hands-on environment.”

The first week of service has been very productive for the FEMA Corps members. With each member is taking on different responsibilities, FEMA Corps is more than happy to be a piece of the puzzle of the disaster relief in Louisiana.
